Characters from Kagome's Family

Hitomi is one of the very minor characters in the anime series InuYasha . She is about the same age as Sota Higurashi, Kagome's Younger brother, and Sota's love interest. Though Sota was at first too shy to admit it, but luckily, Hitomi liked Sota back. At first he questions Inuyasha of "what is love?" and Inuyasha is immensely taken aback. This leads to continued questions up on which of the lovers Kagome or Inuyasha, had confessed their love, and Sota would have liked to practice on Inuyasha to say of this confession: "I love you". Kagome hears this and her face embeds something of a disgusted look, contagious to both Inuyasha and Sota when they find Kagome overhearing.

When Kagome discovers what is happening, she scolds Sota for not looking for her advice, as she is a girl herself and she would know a girl's (meaning Hitomi) better than boys - she attempts to help him by dressing him in a suit just like detective Conan's. However, Sota returns with a clouded look, and Kagome thinks gravely that Hitomi sent him "packing", but when he confesses that even after calling Hitomi alone together after school that he "wants to talk to her about something", he is not able to pluck his courage, with Hitomi commenting that "I don't really like boys who calls up a person and just says what they want to say," shocking Sota.

Nonetheless, they end up having a relationship, with Inuyasha's support of finally revealing Sota's bravery, but is not mentioned in any other episodes ahead. She is an anime only character.

Hitomi appears in InuYasha Episode 90: Sota's Brave Confession of Love (English Dubbed Episode Name) and in the final episode ending credits with Sota, walking around at a carnival. Her name means eyes - those which are round and beautiful, matching that of Sota's description of Hitomi as "she has these big pretty eyes."
