Buyo is a character in the anime and manga series InuYasha. She is Kagome Higurashi's fat cat in modern-day Japan. Buyo might be considered the series' MacGuffin as Kagome first falls down the well through which she travels to the Sengoku period while looking for the cat for her brother Sota. After this, Buyo is not really necessary to the series at all but at times she provides comic relief and InuYasha is shown to enjoy playing with her. Buyo's name may derive from the term BuyoBuyo which means flabby.
